Uttarakhand state is located in northern part of India. 93% part of Uttarakhand is covered by great Himalayan Mountains and 64% are covered by forest, which makes Uttarakhand as a vast shelter for rare mountains birds and animal species. It is also known for herbs. As of now more than 175 species of herbs found in Uttarakhand are used for medical treatments.
